Adventure Wānaka Hostel coming Winter 2023!

A brand new hostel from the award-winning team behind Adventure Queenstown Hostel (World’s Best Hostel 2017) and Adventure Q2 Hostel (three times Best Hostel in Oceania winner). This December, we’ll be bringing our industry-leading quality and world-beating welcome to Wānaka in Central Otago.

This ambitious Adventure Hostel is at the location of the former Matterhorn South Hostel, perfectly located on the doorstep of Wānaka township at the corners of Brownston and Helwick streets. This once-proud hostel recently fell onto hard times. Brett and the AH team are rising to the challenge. We’ll be spending the next six months completely gutting the two existing buildings on the site, all to make way for brand new four-, six- and eight-bed ensuite and shared-bathroom dormitories, as well as one private double bedroom. We’ll also be introducing quality communal spaces to the property, including a bespoke-designed lounge, decked-out kitchen and a chill-out space for the approximately 70 guests and staff to enjoy.

We’ll be offering all the same amazing amenities and fab facilities that are available at our two Queenstown hostels, including super-comfortable pod-style beds featuring curtains, charging outlets and reading lights. There will also be winter sports equipment hire, free bike and GoPro hire, laundry service and house-run activities every night of the week for guests to enjoy.
