House rules

We are a small, intimate hostel. We aren’t fond of signs or finger pointing. With that said, we ask that you follow these simple guidelines:

1. Please act responsibly and follow the instructions of our team members.
2. Help our team by cleaning up after yourself, this includes in our kitchen and common spaces.
3. Be kind, considerate and welcoming with other guests. We kindly ask that at 10pm noise is kept to a minimum.
4. You may responsibly consume your own alcohol at the hostel. We will charge a $100 soiling fee to any guest who overdoes it and deposits their bodily fluids anywhere outside of a toilet.
5. Any damages will be charged to the lead booker. Any group or guest that is unable to pay for damages will be asked to leave immediately and the police will be called.

Please note that any guest acting in an unsavoury, irresponsible, or threatening manner will be asked to leave immediately. Queenstown is extremely busy over the festival dates and the likelihood of finding any alternative accommodation is slim to none. We ask all guests to be respectful of others.

Debit/Credit card collection

Please note that on arrival, the lead booker will be required to provide debit or credit card details that Adventure Hostels will keep on file for a period of 14 days. These card details will be retained in order to settle any damages or additional charges relating to your group.

To speed along your check in process, you are welcome to reach out to us in advance by phone to provide us with these details. You can call our Hostels between 9am and 7pm NZDT.

Bed & Room Allocation

Rooming allocations have been provided by Snow Machine, we cannot offer any modification, amendments, upgrades or changes to what you have booked with Snow Machine. Please contact your Snow Machine support team for any query regarding rooming and persons that you wish to room with.

Adventure Hostels do not allocate bunks, and operate a first-in first-choice policy, therefore we are unable to offer any preferred choice between upper or lower bunks. We recommend arriving as early as possible to secure a preferred bunk.

Luggage Storage

Our hostels have dedicated Ski/board rooms for you to store any ski, boards, poles and boots. We also have padlockable lockers that all guests are welcome to use to store valuables. We have a limited number of padlocks available to loan for a small deposit. We strongly recommend bringing your own.

After checking out
If you’re heading off on a late flight, or want to kick around town for the day, please feel free to leave your luggage, skis, and boards with us in our secure locker room for up to 24 hours, free of charge.

Getting here

The cheapest method of arriving at the hostel from Queenstown airport: The public bus! Take the no.1 bus to the stop on Stanley Street.
The bus departs every 30mins and takes just 15min. It’s either $10 cash or $2 with a Bee Card, which you’ll need to purchase from the bus driver and load up with $10 anyway. Alternatively take an Uber, costing between $40-60

Cars & Campers
Due to our very central location we don’t have any on-site car parking. However, there is very limited free-of-charge parking and two inexpensive carparks within a 3 min walk. Our team can point these parking options out to you at check-in.

Trips, Tours, Equipment hire and more!

On arrival our staff can help you plan and book all the adventure activities Queenstown has to offer, most can even be booked just 24 hours in advance. If you have limited time for your stay, or prefer to arrange everything prior to arrival, simply send our friendly team an email with your ideas.

We rent ski’s, boards and boots!
Adventure Hostels offer the cheapest rental service in town. Let us know on arrival if you need any winter gear or clothing and our Ski-tech will get you sized up and onto the right board or into the correct skis’

Skis/boards/poles/boots from $25 a day Clothing hire from $17 a day
