Live-in assistant required for our brand new hostel located right in town. Adventure Wanaka (AW) is currently undergoing major renovation works that are set to be completed early next year. Currently, AW is open to long-term guests only, and is operating as a boarding house. Whereby the onus is on the guests to maintain a clean living enviroment as a condition of stay, with guests responsible for cleaning their own rooms, bathrooms and ensuring that the communal kitchen is kept in a useable condition for others.
As the Live-in Assistant, it’ll be your responsibility to ensure that the hostel’s long-stay guests are following house rules and behaving responsibily, as well as cleaning up after themselves in communal spaces. You’ll also be required to perform some weekly cleans of communal spaces and bathrooms, strip, launder and make-up a couple of beds per week. You’ll also be responsible for providing keys to new arrivals – this is done via a self-check-in lock box, in an on-call capacity. The hours are not set, and can be flexible to suit your schedule. We expect the required tasks to take up to 14 hours per week.
In return, you’ll get your own private, ground-floor room that opens into our courtyard, and private bathroom. The property is located right in town with an amazingly central location just a minute walk from the lake and the New World supermarket. This position would work really well for somebody who may be seeking a flexible accommodation arrangement and are already working another fulltime job in town.
