So, you think you’ve got what it takes to create the kind of memorable experiences that our guests will cherish for life? Great! Our Hostels are staffed by a team of dedicated full-time Team Members. These heroes of hospitality are responsible for all aspects of the daily running of our hostels – our Reception, daily Housekeeping and our in-house Events & Activities. Our Team member’s duties include, but are not limited to, checking our guests in and out, phone and email enquiries, cash handling, tour and excursion sales, aswell as many other aspects you might expect to find at a busy Hostel reception desk. Through the day they’ll also be tasked with daily housekeeping, deep-cleans, and at night they’ll be running our nightly events. At times it can be a very challenging but ultimately very enriching position where you’ll quickly learn about, and aid all aspects of our award-winning hostels. We generally prefer our full time Team Members to stay with us for a full summer or winter season, which lasts around six months, these are supported by the occassional part-timer when the business needs arise. In your application, we’d like it if you could tell us a bit about yourself, when you are available and how long for, and which hostel you would like to work at.

Adventure awaits…
Our philosophy at Adventure Hostels is to look after our guests, invest in staff and provide as much as possible for free.
We’re all about giving everyone the opportunity to have a good time, so you’ll be helping run activities with guests and giving them advice and a hand when they need it.
We pay attention to details. Our team members will closely follow well-developed procedures and systems, complete task checklists and will ensure that each and every interaction you have with our guests is about maximising their experience at our hostels.
The average age of our guests is about 27, with plenty of young’uns and 30-somethings rounding things out nicely. It’s effortlessly easy to make new friends or travel partners at an Adventure Hostel. As part of your responsibilities, you’ll find yourself setting up and running pub quizzes from our dining room or setting up locations and prizes for a weekly scavenger hunt across the town – all as part of our nightly house-run activities.
Our team members are rostered on a rotating weekly basis and no single day at our hostels is ever the same. Our team members are responsible for it all, as you effortlessly move between reception, housekeeping and events-focused tasks. Our small but dedicated teamwork full-time hours, around 36+ hours per week. All team members stay on-site at the hostel, in private staff accommodation.
On Monday, you might be getting stuck-in on housekeeping, making beds and cleaning bathrooms and the kitchen. Tuesday, you’ll be hands on responding to guest enquiries and emails, handling check-ins and selling tours from our front desk. Thursday night, you’re there front and centre, gearing our guests up for the weekly Mario Kart tournament in the lounge.
We also believe in a relaxed environment, and that means giving our team time for themselves. You won’t have to work overnight shifts, and if you’re with us over Christmas and New Year you’ll get a few days off to enjoy the holidays.
