English isn’t everyone’s first language, so we’ve put together this helpful welcome guide with everything you need to know for your stay.
Our Reception team are available to help between 8:00am – 9:00pm daily.
If you do need help during the evening, you will find our team in the kitchen between 10-11pm.

Access at Urbanz is granted by keycard, this will give you access to your room, and at the main entrance after-hours.
Your keycard will provide access until check-out time on your day of departure. (10am)
There are three floors at Urbanz, with two staircases to access each floor.
The staircases to acess each floor can be found at the front and rear of the building
For level 2, access is via the rear staircase only, and for Level 3 access is via the staircase just to the right of our reception area.
Please note: Lost Keycards will incur a $10.00 replacement charge
We have high-speed Wifi available in all rooms and areas of the hostel, suitable for streaming and video calls.

Our kitchen and Dining area is located on Level 3, just at the top of the stairs from our Reception
Our Kitchen space is open from 6:00am – 11:00pm
When storing food; please label your food bag or box with your name and check-out date. This is very important as we do throw out unlabelled food from our fridges and shelves. Tape and pens to label your food and drinks can be found over on the left, by the waste and recycling bins.
Like any communal kitchen, if you use it, please clean up after yourself – Leave it clean and ready for the next person to use.
Drinking water is available from any tap in the building, kitchen or bathrooms.
Guests using the kitchen for cooking, after 11:00pm, will be fined at Managements discretion.
Urbanz has a massive guest lounge, perfect for lazy days, working-away, or making new friends and travel buddies.
Our hostel-run activities will usually start in our Lounge in the evening, and are a great way to socialise.
These activities include Movie Nights, Quiz Night and our Pool competition.

Urbanz is part of the Adventure Hostels family. Our hostels are designed to have a social & interactive vibe, where people from across the world can meet, hang out, swap travel stories and have a casual drink together.
Your hostel team run activities several nights of the week, designed to help our guests and travellers to interact and engage with each other.
Most of our activities start from the Lounge fireplace area at 9pm, with exception of Movie Nights, which start at 8:00pm in the cinema.

Please note, we are a social hostel and this does mean that it can be loud at times, especially in communal spaces. This is the nature of social hostels.
Quiet time starts at 10pm, but is not enforced by our team.
Most of our rooms at Urbanz have shared bathroom access.
Only very few of our private rooms have Ensuite bathrooms.
You’ll find bathrooms and showers on all three floors of this building.
Our bathrooms on Level 1 & 3 are separate gender (Male & female), the bathooms on Level 2 are mixed-gender bathrooms.
We also have toilets just off from the Lounge, by the cinema area.
Our communal bathrooms are deep-cleaned daily, and checked several times each day.
However, if you do notice any mess or bathrooms requiring a quick clean, please inform our reception team.
Towels are included as part of your stay, one will be found on your bed.
If required. please ask our reception team for a fresh towel during opening hours.
Hair dryers are available on request at Reception
Our team offer a simple laundry service. We do not have self-service washing machines at the hostel.
as part of this service, we will wash, dry and return your clothes to your room/bunk when ready.
This service is available during our reception opening hours, while we can’t guarantee same-day service we will try our best to get your laundry completed on the same day.
Either drop your laundry off at Reception with your own hamper or bag, or request a laundry hamper from our team.
This service currently costs $12.00, as of 2026
Check out time is 10:00am
If you are departing early, before our reception opens, simply drop your keycard into the wooden check-out box, located on our Reception desk
Please leave your name tag (if in a dormitory), linen and towel on your bed. We will take care of the rest.
While you must be out of the room by 10am, you are very welcome to make use of the hostel facilities before you depart.
Feel free to hang out in the lounge, make a late breakfast or take a shower before you head off.
Luggage Storage after checkout is free-of-charge on the day of departure, and $5.00 per day after this.
Our Luggage Room is just across from Reception, and is accessible only during Reception opening hours.
Due to our fantastic location, centrally, URBANZ does not have private parking for guests
For guests of Urbanz hostel, we offer a paid parking option via Wilsons Car Parks. This is right next to our hostel on Armagh Street. This is discounted for Urbanz guests, priced at $17* for 24 hours. This car park option is not available to book in advance, and has limited availability. Our team can provide you with a ticket from Reception during Check-in.
There are three 10-minute drop-off parking bays located directly
outside of the hostel, on Manchester St.
